I'm at the age where you start "feeling old". Starting to buy those anti-aging skin care products and of course, watching what you eat. It's all prevention these days! I was just reading an article on foods that trigger "aging". Of course, first is sugar. Obviously, we know by now that sugar causes collagen to breakdown ahh! Well, I can do without sugar, don't believe me? Well, it's the salty chips that get me and guess what?! Carbs turn to sugar, duh! But hey that's doable, right? We're strong. Second was coffee, now I love my coffee, so the only thing I could possibly do is reduce it to one cup a day. Better be one fabulous cup of coffee though! And finally spicy foods, whoa hold on a sec! So why spicy???? Well spicy foods cause blood vessels to dilate and this constant state of inflammation causes aging as well as other stresses on the body.
Now getting back to cutting out spicy foods; I don’t know if I could do this, maybe for a period of time but that's called a diet (shhh that word is not allowed on this blog). I believe in living and a way of life, not cutting off happiness for periods of time. Sorry, aging skin, I can't give up spicy foods, of course I don't need to have them everyday but I'm not going to go out of my way for this one. So what's my solution: Adding anti-inflammatory foods of course. One of my top drinks is turmeric milk. Yes, it's been around a couple years now and I doubt it's going to leave. When I drink this every day I feel better, this is not just a drink it's a way of life. Try it you'll see, I'm planning on turning you.
Any milk will work
